MORGUE is dedicated to the exploration of loss and bereavement. The nature of death and the expected or the anticipated reactions surrounding death are cloaked with caution, no definitive answers: anxiety, fear, tiptoes for those who have evaded it, and a choking, heinous weight for those that carry the indelible mark it leaves - whether in taking or receiving.

To restate more simply, there is no field guide to tragedy and loss once it makes its most inevitable visit. Whether it be at the hour of death, before, after, nor during - whether the party be the dead, dying, or those impacted by the fatality. This zine shall explore the aesthetics of death through the lens of the living. It will be carved through the experiential tools gained by my own personal relationship with loss. The operative word of exploration does not refer solely to termination of existence, but the end of relationships, careers, marriages, futures, and possibilities - as these are both the siblings of demise and the parents of loss and heartbreak.

Loss removes any sense of familiarity, routine, and future. Forcing us to rebuild our understanding of any and everything we encounter to the nature of our very selves.
